Equipment

1. The club provides nets and nylon birds.

2. Racquet and non-marking court shoes are required.

3. Eye protection is strongly recommended.

 

Ladder system/Player selection

Adherence to our system is not optional. As a social club, it's important for us to ensure that play nights are fun, fair, and enjoyable for everyone. We will consider suspending those that do not comply.

1. When you are ready to play, take your nametag from the bottom of the board and add it to the right-hand side of the active player line. 

2. When your tag is the closest to the left side (that is, it's now the first tag on the line), it's your turn to pick a game. 

3. There is a red line about eight places in from the left side - when it's your turn to pick, keep your selections from this group rather than pulling your friends' tags from further to the right. 

4. Unless you are actively training with a particular partner for an upcoming tournament (like the Funfest), do not clip one tag to another.

5. Please - do not pick only select players, friends or otherwise. Everyone is entitled to a fair amount of play.

 

Showers at the gym

1. Our permit DOES NOT include use of the school showers. Please do not plan on getting a shower at the school, as we could lose our permit for the season. Please don't ruin it for everyone: wait till you get home to get a shower.

2. To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, we remind all players to observe good hygiene before play. A quick shower and fresh attire help maintain a comfortable environment for all.

Cancellations

Check our calendar for planned and ad-hoc cancellations. We recommend you subscribe to it for automatic updates. Please also note :

1. When the school is closed - there will be NO badminton that night.

2. If the school buses are cancelled or there is an inclement weather day, there will be NO badminton.

Please note - the Executive are unpaid volunteers who also generally work full time - we will try and update our site and social media that badminton is cancelled but this is not always possible.
